Quotes For 'Memory Lane' Script
Script for
Memory Lane (Love Quotes)
“Doubt thou the stars are fire,
Doubt truth to be a liar
but never doubt thy love.”
Love is as much of an object as an
obsession, everybody wants it, everybody seeks it, but few ever achieve it,
those who do will cherish it, be lost in it, and among all, never… never forget
it.
So, fall
asleep love, loved by me... for I know love, I am loved by thee.
I've learned that I’ll
forget what you said, I might forget what you did, but I’ll never forget how
you made me feel.
I
don't think of all the misery, but of all the beauty that still remains.
We have researched these quotes in order to find an appropriate love quote for the opening of our film. We chose: "You don't sit down and write a wish list about the person you are going to fall violently in love with. It just doesn't work that way."

Summary of our Story
The story of 'Memory Lane' is about a boy and girl (Edward and Linda), Linda comes from a high family in society and Edward is just working class. They meet in a milkshake bar and fall madly in love. They spend only a few moths together and get married. The story is then about their life together. The film then drops to a lower tone when Edward becomes seriously ill and dies of cancer. The whole film is told through Linda as an old lady looking back through her scrapbook of pictures with her beloved Edward.

Costumes and Props
Dresses, Birds, Flowers, Calm/Sweet Music.
Filming/Editing Techniques
High key lighting, when things are good. Low-key lighting when things go wrong. Bright colours are used in the girl’s clothes, and the boy has dull colours. Lots of close up to show the expressions of their faces. A lot of 2 shots are used.

Summary On Chosen Genre
After intensive research we have chosen to make our film using the 'Romantic' genre. We have chosen this genre due to easy accessible resources and we decided that genre's such as Horror or SciFi didn't interest the group and would be harder to make look realistic due to lack of resources.

Legally Blonde Opening
This film opening from 'Legally Blonde' uses credits similar to what we would like to use. Twelve seconds into the clip there is an effect which looks like the title is being 'written' on, which lasts for six seconds. Further more twenty seconds into the clip you can see that there are hearts above the letter "i" throughout the titles. We hope to include this within our opening as it helps enhance the conventions of a 'Romantic' genre.

P.S I Love You (2mins)
Associated Institutions:
Warner Bros, Alcon EntertainmentTarget Audience: 15-28 year old women
Main Characters: Gerard Butler, Hilary Swank
The scene begins with a non diegetic soft, calm music, where the guitar is prominent. there is an establishing shot of a busy American Street. There is then a mid shot of a man and woman coming out of an underground tube station. The music is still playing and although the expressions on the characters face seem concerned the music keeps the scene calm and caring. The font on the opening credits is a modern, funky white font. We follow the man and woman through the street and they then go into a room which has red walls - representing love in the scene. The music eventually stops at 1min35 when the man begins to speak.

Titanic (2mins)
Associated Institutions:
20th Century Fox
Target Audience: 16-30 year old women
Genre: Romance
Main Characters: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet
The scene begins with soft, calm, non diegetic music. The clip then fades into a black and white establishing shot of the Titanic and varies characters, the scene, however, has been edited with a slightly yellow tinge - giving the impression of an historical view. The scene carries on fading into varies shot types of the ship and the characters waving. The opening titles are a traditional looking font, capital letters and white. The clip then fades to the ocean and the title 'TITANIC' appears in bold white font. The scene then again fades into a modern view of two ships in the water.

Spiderman (2mins)
Associated Institutions:
Columbia, MarvelTarget Audience: 16-25 year old Men
Main Characters:
Toby Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco
The clip begins with a dramatic, fast music. The beginning is f animated spiders web, where the editing chooses to use quick/zooming techniques. The opening is modern and fast paced, fitting in with the music. The three main colours are grey/black and red, this clearly shows that the film is directed at the male audience.
